President John Mahama has named Dr. George Atta-Boateng as the acting Director General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).

Dr. Atta-Boateng previously served as the Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA). He is also an alumnus of St. James Seminary and Senior High School.
He is an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Specialist with 18 years of experience in areas such as Data Communications, Networks-Cellular, Mobile and Wireless networking technologies from 1G to 6G, Software Development, and Radio and Television Integration Systems.
Dr. Atta-Boateng has a strong track record of successfully managing large-scale projects within budget and time constraints. He is highly skilled in ICT development, policy, and strategy, with a particular focus on issues relevant to developing countries.
He possesses extensive knowledge of ICT-readiness in many developing nations worldwide, including detailed analyses of the ICT sector covering Market Structure, Universal Service and Access, Cyber-Security, Telecommunications Infrastructure, and the application of ICT in Health, Business, Government, and Education.
Additionally, he has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels in various tertiary institutions in Ghana.
His diverse experience demonstrates his ability to contribute effectively to any professional environment, either independently or as part of a team.

The National Signals Bureau (NSB) is part of Ghana’s National Security Council. Its mission is to provide secure communication systems for the nation’s intelligence and national security agencies.
