St. James Seminary SHS proudly represented the Brong-Ahafo Region in this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ), a prestigious academic competition that brings together senior high schools from across Ghana to compete in a thrilling display of scientific and mathematical prowess. Since its inception, the NSMQ has aimed to promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and teamwork, and St. James SHS has a history of participation that reflects our commitment to these values.

Our journey began at the Preliminary Stage at Auditorium 900, where we faced off against Tsito Senior High Technical School and Armed Forces Senior High Technical School. With determination and the support of our school community, St. James SHS emerged victorious with an impressive 50 points, surpassing Armed Forces SHTS’s 38 points and Tsito SHTS’s 32 points. This victory advanced us to the Quarterfinals with high hopes and renewed energy.
In the Quarterfinals, we competed against two formidable opponents: Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School and Pope John SHS & Minor Seminary. Despite our best efforts, the contest concluded with Presbyterian Boys’ Sec earning 59 points, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem scoring 46 points, and St. James SHS finishing with 31 points. While this ended our journey in the NSMQ 2024, it was a valuable experience that has only strengthened our resolve and inspired future competitors.
