St. James Seminary Senior High School is delighted to host students and staff from St. Mary’s College, Dublin, Ireland, for a two-week educational and cultural exchange programme.
The visit provides a unique opportunity for students from both institutions to learn from one another, build lasting friendships, and experience different cultures and traditions.
During their stay, our Irish guests are participating in a variety of activities, including traditional Ghanaian drumming lessons, a friendly soccer match at St. James Field, and educational excursions designed to expose them to local entrepreneurship and vocational skills.
One of the highlights of the programme is a visit to the BEMCOM Youth Enterprises and Skills Training Centre in Techiman, where students are learning about practical and sustainable ventures such as mushroom production, grasscutter rearing, beekeeping, and honey production. The experience offers valuable insights into innovation, self-employment, and community development.
Beyond the educational activities, the exchange programme promotes cultural understanding, leadership development, and global citizenship. Students from both schools are sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and creating meaningful international friendships.
